Buddy robotics
Inspiring the next generation of science and technology leaders through mentor-based robotics programs, hands-on innovation, and collaborative learning experiences.
Buddy Robotics is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of science and technology leaders through engaging, mentor-based programs in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Our programs combine hands-on learning with teamwork and problem-solving challenges. Students work together to design, build, and program robots while developing critical thinking, creativity, and technical skills. By participating in our activities, students gain practical experience that prepares them for future studies and careers in STEM.
Through engaging, mentor-based programs, we provide young people with opportunities to explore robotics, engineering, and innovation. Dedicated mentors and volunteers generously contribute their time and expertise to guide and support every student, creating a welcoming environment where all participants can thrive.
Beyond technical knowledge, Buddy Robotics emphasizes the development of important life skills. Participants build confidence, learn effective communication, and develop leadership abilities while working with mentors, volunteers, and peers. Our goal is to help students grow not only as innovators, but as responsible and collaborative members of their communities.
The mission of Buddy Robotics is to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders and innovators. We achieve this by engaging students in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, encourage innovation, and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
We believe that when young people are given access to meaningful opportunities, mentorship, and collaborative experiences, they can discover their potential and become creators of the future.
Every program, event, and interaction at Buddy Robotics is shaped by four core values that define who we are and how we operate.
At Buddy Robotics, we instill the value of Gracious Professionalism™ at every opportunity. We expect, require, and reward conduct — both on and off the field — that reflects the highest standards of professional respect, integrity, and courtesy. Participants learn that success is not only measured by results, but also by how we treat others.
Our mission is to inspire rather than formally educate. Through participation in our programs and events, students naturally develop a remarkable range of creative, technical, and analytical skills. They also build social intelligence through teamwork, communication, and shared problem-solving experiences.
Our programs encourage both cooperation and competition. Teams strive to perform their best while also supporting and collaborating with other teams. This concept of Coopertition® teaches students an important real-world lesson: progress is often achieved when people work together, even while competing.
Buddy Robotics celebrates diversity and inclusion. Our participants reflect the rich diversity of contemporary society, and we believe that innovation thrives when people from different backgrounds come together. Our programs are volunteer-led and volunteer-driven, creating a welcoming environment where every participant can learn, grow, and succeed.
From early explorers to advanced engineers, Buddy Robotics offers structured programs tailored to different skill levels and age groups.
Designed for young beginners, this program introduces foundational concepts of robotics, basic coding, and mechanical design through fun, game-based challenges. Students learn to think like engineers while building simple robots and solving entry-level problems in a playful, supportive setting.
📅 Ages 6–10 | After-school & Weekend Sessions
Intermediate students dive deeper into programming languages, sensor integration, and collaborative robot design. Working in teams, participants tackle real-world engineering challenges, compete in regional events, and develop project management skills alongside technical expertise.
📅 Ages 11–14 | Weekly Team Sessions
Our flagship advanced program prepares high school students for competitive robotics tournaments. Teams design, build, and program sophisticated robots while learning advanced engineering principles, strategic planning, and professional communication skills — preparing them for university and STEM careers.
📅 Ages 15–18 | Full Season Competition Program
We go beyond teaching robotics — we build the whole student. Here's what makes our approach uniquely effective and transformative.
Every student is guided by experienced mentors from engineering, technology, and education backgrounds who are passionate about youth development.
Our curriculum is designed around practical, real-world challenges that mirror actual engineering and technology workflows used in professional settings.
Students participate in regional and national robotics competitions, gaining invaluable experience in performance under pressure, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
We actively foster a diverse, inclusive environment where students of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
Our programs are carefully structured to develop both technical competencies and essential life skills that students will carry throughout their lives.
Hear from the students, parents, and mentors whose lives have been positively impacted by Buddy Robotics programs.
Buddy Robotics completely transformed my daughter's confidence. She went from being shy and unsure to leading her entire team at the regional competition. The mentors here are extraordinary — patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in each student's growth.
Sarah M.I've been volunteering as a mentor with Buddy Robotics for three years, and every season I'm amazed by how much these students grow. The Coopertition® model teaches them lessons that go far beyond robotics — lessons about integrity, collaboration, and grace under pressure.
David K.Joining the Advanced Competition Team was the best decision I made in high school. I learned to code, build real robots, present our designs to judges, and work effectively in a diverse team. I'm now studying Mechanical Engineering at university — Buddy Robotics was the foundation.
James T.Whether you're a student eager to explore robotics, a parent looking for enriching STEM programs, or a professional wanting to mentor the next generation — we welcome you.
